|Another Uneventful Week As the Weather Remains Hot|
|Week In Review For July 13-19, 2012|
Natural gas and electric prices were relatively flat this week, continuing a two-week trend. For this seven-day report period, the 12-month average price for natural gas on the NYMEX rose 0.4% while the 12-month average price for peak power on the PJM rose 0.6%.
As temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic region continued to hover in the high 90s to 100 degrees this past week, the use of natural gas to generate electric power continued to be higher than in previous years. The question still remains, though, as to whether the summer temperatures will be hot enough to erase the natural gas strorage bubble.
