Energy Procurement Strategies in a Competitive Market
WGL Energy offers tips for creating a total energy management strategy

The energy procurement market can be tough to navigate for business owners and nonprofit administrators. That’s why energy experts from WGL Energy were invited by the Green Building Alliance (GBA) in Pittsburgh to present an introduction to the purchase of power and natural gas in competitive markets, along with the basics of developing a comprehensive energy management strategy.

David Clark, Channel Sales Manager, led the program with active involvement from WGL Energy’s VP of Sales and Pittsburgh native, Clint Zediak, and Greater Pittsburgh area Account Manager Jaison Staab.

The presentation covered the ins and outs of energy purchasing in competitive markets and the importance of thinking beyond individual commodity purchases – encouraging each attendee to think in terms of a total energy management strategy.  In addition to traditional commodity purchases, the presentation included information on renewable energy alternatives, energy efficiency projects and demand response programs.  Attendees were challenged to learn as much as they could about available brokers and consultants.  When it comes to the future of energy, knowledge truly is power.

For additional insights on creating an effective energy procurement strategy in the Greater Pittsburgh area, please contact Jaison Staab at (412) 667-1249 or jaison.staab@wglenergy.com
