WGL Energy Sponsors Hole at GPHA Annual Golf Outing
Sponsorship helps support scholarship for future hoteliers

Key members of our commercial sales team hit the greens with Philadelphia business leaders at the RiverWinds Golf Club last week. They were participating in a Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association (GPHA) golf tournament for local hoteliers, industry organizations and suppliers of the hospitality community.

Last week's golf tournament, which has been hosted by GPHA for the past 20 years, was for the benefit of GPHA’s Michael M. Boyle Scholarship fund. Named in honor of a key member who helped revitalize Philadelphia’s hospitality industry, this scholarship awards students pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.

The GPHA serves as the voice of over 90 hotels in the Delaware Valley and hosts six major events each year, providing an opportunity for members of the hospitality industry to discuss potential business opportunities aimed at improving the hotel experience in Philadelphia.

The sponsorship provided by WGL Energy Services, Inc. (WGL Energy) included signage at the 9th hole and allowed participants to take a much-needed water break at the midway point in the course. Information on WGL Energy’s natural gas and renewable energy offerings was distributed there, as well. It was a great opportunity for members of the industry to learn how they can help to create a sustainable future and support a great cause.
