Supporting Sustainability with Carbon Offsets
Greening events to counterbalance greenhouse gas emissions

WGL Energy (WGL Energy Services and WGL Energy Systems) is greening and attending several events in September. Greening means WGL Energy has donated carbon offsets to counterbalance the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from an event – such as energy use, hotel stays and food waste. By greening events, WGL Energy continues to demonstrate its dedication to community improvement and sustainability.

On September 17-20, 2017, WGL Energy is greening The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) 2017 Annual Meeting. The annual meeting will bring together leaders from the state, local and private sectors to discuss the future of U.S. energy systems and technologies.

On September 21, 2017, The Green Building Alliance is hosting Emerald Evening 2017. WGL Energy is an Olive sponsor and attending the event. The gala will celebrate the people, projects and initiatives in the green building and sustainability community.

September 21 is also the Washington Advanced Energy Stakeholder Breakfast. The focus of the breakfast is Internet of Things (IOT), Technology and Innovation. WGL Energy is greening the event. John Dukes, Sales Director for WGL Energy Systems, will give opening remarks and elaborate on greening and carbon offsets.

For more on what it means to green an event or how you can reduce your organization’s carbon footprint, check out the carbon offsets page for government, commercial and industrial customers on our website or view the video:
