Clean Energy Resolutions
How clean energy resolutions can prepare your home or business for the year ahead

The start of a new year provides a chance to review the successes and opportunities from the past, and make the necessary adjustments to have a successful year. Additionally, the new year is a great time to develop clean energy resolutions. Clean energy resolutions can help individuals and organizations of any size outline a plan for sustainability and generate cost savings that can be reallocated into your home or business.

Here are three Clean Energy Resolutions to help you reach your sustainability goals for 2019:

1. Conduct an energy audit – To improve your organization’s energy efficiency, it is important to understand how the energy is being used. An energy audit will help provide insight into what is affecting your energy costs. Understanding what’s affecting energy costs can assist in the development of benchmarks for the year ahead.

2. Switch to LED – According to the U.S. Department of Energy, switching over to LED bulbs could save $265 billion over the next 20 years. Furthermore, switching to LED contributes a huge benefit to the environment by saving hundreds of millions of tons of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.

3. Choose Solar – Solar power has changed the way residential and businesses customers consume energy. Today, solar power systems can be sized to power a percentage of a building’s electricity or offset usage in various spaces. Excess power can be divided by various units in a building generating shared cost savings.
