Going Green in the Workplace

We previously talked about how you can adapt a green lifestyle at home, but what about in the workplace? Our jobs take up a significant part of lives, so why not use this opportunity to incorporate practices that enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact. Below are few things you can do as you operate in your day-to-day.

  • Telecommute when possible. Working from home is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint over commuting.
  • Share printed files with coworkers. This reduces ink and printer usage. Also having digital copies of documents allows others to access them from their computers.
  • Donate gently used materials. Donate books and manuals to others in need instead of throwing them away.
  • Use non-toxic cleaning products when cleaning. Choose products with natural substances over hazardous chemicals.

Adapting a green lifestyle in the workplace, pushes our environment to a better and brighter future. You can also reduce your carbon footprint by selecting WGL Energy green products for your home and/or business.
