Stay Warm and Save This Winter

It can be very tempting to frequently turn on the heat in your home during the winter season. However, there are some things you can do to minimize usage. Utilizing these methods will help you save while also improving the warmth of your home.

  1. Clear heat vents, registers, and radiators. Move furniture, curtains, and other items away from these objects to ensure the heat can effectively circulate throughout your home.
  2. Do something active. Partaking in activities at home such as cleaning or exercising can help you generate body heat. Consider setting a reminder to get up and move often, so your body does not become so cold and stiff that you don’t feel like being active.
  3. Reverse the ceiling fan. Running your ceiling fan at a low speed in a clockwise direction will help to push the warm air that rises toward the ceiling back down toward floor level.
