Weekly review for April 21 - 27, 2019

On Thursday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that working gas in storage as of Friday April 19, 2019 was 1,339 BCF. This was an increase of 92 BCF from the previous week, in line with market expectations. Inventories are now 55 BCF higher than last year at this time, 369 below the 5-year average. This is only the second week during the last two years where current inventories exceeded the prior year’s level.

This week, the NYMEX natural gas 12-month strip (Apr19-Mar20) was flat and PJM West Hub 12-month strip prices were down by a mere 0.5%.
