Fall Energy Preservation Tips

Good bye summer, hello fall! As we enter the cooler months, energy preservation becomes a must. Below are a few tips you can implement to regulate energy consumption throughout the fall season.

  • Prioritize servicing your furnace or boiler. Doing so now makes sure it runs efficiently as the temperature starts to drop.

  • Get an energy audit to explore opportunities to make your home more energy efficient and comfortable.

  • Keep your fridge and freezers full but not clustered. If your fridge or freezer is empty, fill milk jugs with water to fill up space, and throw out old food if your fridge or freezer is too full.

  • Inspect and clean your fireplace. Make sure your fireplace is safe before using. Close fireplace dampers when not in use, to prevent heat from escaping.

In implementing these tips, you can lower your energy usage during this fall season. To learn more about how you can manage and optimize your energy consumption with WGL Energy visit our website or call 1-833-61-GREEN (1-833-614-7336) to speak with one of our energy experts.
