Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator

The greenhouse gas equivalencies calculator is a tool that translates measurements into terms you can understand, such as the annual emissions from cars and households. It is also useful in communicating your greenhouse gas reduction strategy, reduction targets, or other initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

When using the calculator, you have two options for your entering data to develop greenhouse gas equivalencies. When you enter your energy data in the calculator (see link below), it converts your entered values to carbon dioxide-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions based on emission factors for energy consumption or electricity reductions. It then shows similar ways to convey those emissions. When you enter emissions data, the calculator displays equivalent ways to express those emissions.

Just like the greenhouse gas equivalencies calculator, WGL Energy can help you reach an environmental-friendly solution to offset your carbon footprint. To learn how, visit or call 1-833-61-GREEN (1-833-614-7336) to speak with one of our energy experts.
